EAMusic1: The Moffatts are here to discuss their hit album, "Chapter I: A New Beginning," and their involvement in the YM/Maybelline Rising Star Concert. We will first be talking to Clint! Welcome, Clint!

Question: Hey, guys! I was wondering if Bob and Clint are IDENTICAL twins, why does the official book say that Bob is taller?

Clint: We ARE identical twins, 'cause when you have triplets you usually have two who are identical and then one that's fraternal. And when you have triplets it doesn't mean they have to be the same heights. I think it depends on how much you sleep and eat, and I guess Bob eats a little bit more than me.

Question: What would you say is your favorite song on your CD, and why do you like that song the most?

Clint: My personal favorite is "Written All Over My Heart." It's a song we wrote, and there are a lot of songs on the album which represent the Moffatts really well, but to me that one stands out the most on the record, and I just like the way it was played and produced, and everything about it.

Question: I wanted to know, were there any songs you wanted to include on the new album but couldn't?

Clint: We took out the songs that we weren't happy with and didn't represent the Moffatts really well, and we put on the songs that we felt did. We have a lot of songs left for the next album, and we like this album we have out now, but I think the next one will be even better.

Question: I was wondering when you guys are going on tour and where you are going.

Clint: We just finished our Canadian tour not too long ago, so we won't be back in Canada until next year. We're going over to Asia to do a tour over there, I think for 12 or less shows. Then we're going back to the UK to do shows over there. We come back to the US and do a tour with LFO, and that will be going on for 2-4 weeks. We're still figuring out all the dates. I'm pretty sure we'll be touring in many parts of Europe separately. And then we're just going to be doing a whole bunch of promo here in the US.

Question: Where was the most exciting place you've ever played at?

Clint: There have been a lot of exciting places. One that stands out to me the most would be Lisbon, Portugal. We went there for a promotional tour, and there's a band called the Kelly Family there, and they're huge in Ireland and other places. We came to know them pretty well, and they said whenever we're in the same part of the world as them, we could come see their show. And we were both in Portugal and we went to their show, and it was in a great little intimate place, and we thought next time we're in Portugal we wanted to play there. And so we did, and it was really nice.

EAMusic1: Where have you played in Toronto?

Clint: The first time we went there we played at the Warehouse, and then at the Molson Amphitheater.

Blondy685: What is the funniest thing that has happened on stage during a concert?

Clint: There have been so many funny stories. The show is very spontaneous, so there are always things that happen that are funny. We did a family show in Branson, Missouri before we started making pop albums. And one time we were going back into the finale and we went back to the riser and just waved our Canadian flag, and the triplets, the three of us, hit our heels on the back of the riser and I fell down first, and then Bob did, and Dave did, like a domino effect, and the crowd was laughing and it was really funny.

PixiChik74: What kind of music do you listen to?

Clint: Well, the music we listened to growing up was a lot of early rock like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, the Beach Boys. And we just met Brian Wilson the other day, and we met David Bowie the other night also, and he's been a real inspiration to us. These days we listen to a lot of Nirvana, Bryan Adams, Foofighters, and so it's very different what we listen to.

Question: Will you please release the song "Yaya" in the US?

Clint: That's a good question, because we were just in the studio, and there's a TV show called "Wasteland" coming out and it's going to be a big TV series, and they were interested in our song "Yaya." And we just came out of the studio with the producer, who also worked with Meredith Brooks and others, and so hopefully the TV show will pick up the song. And it could be a really great single for us, and so Ally could have her dream come true.

Question: What would be your favorite video that you guys made?

Clint: For me, all the videos we've done have grown to a whole new level of maturity, and how we look and portray ourselves on the screen. And the new one, "Misery," is my favorite, and I think the fans are getting it too, because we only released it in Canada and it's already blown past all our other songs on the charts.

Question: Do you know when you will be on MTV?

Clint: I guess a month ago we did our premiere and they've been playing our video, but we're actually supposed to do a live thing there at MTV.

EAMusic1: Thank you, Clint! We will now be talking to Scott.

Question: Hey, guys! You rock! I have been a HUGE fan ever since the "Caterpillar Crawl" days! If you think a girl is hot or cute at a concert, what do you do? Would you go up to her and tell her? Or talk to her? Thanks!

Scott: Well, if I had the opportunity, I would go up and talk to her, but usually those opportunities don't come about. We don't really try and pick out a certain person in the audience, we just try and entertain everyone that's out there.

Question: Where would you rather be, in the studio recording or performing, and why?

Scott: I would rather be performing live, because just the vibe of being spontaneous and being allowed to make mistakes is a great thing for me. We can go out there and be crazy and not have to worry about every little thing we do. The studio is so much stricter. Over time it will get looser in the studio. But for now it's just so great to walk onstage and hear the screams.

Question: Hey, Scott, remember when you fell on your butt on August 1st, 1999 in Iowa? You were so funny!

Scott: No, I don't actually remember that.

Question: How did you start performing?

Scott: When we were about 3 and 4 years old, we used to sing a capella in our basement to country tunes. And when we first went to pop rock stuff in 1996, we decided to do stuff like what we liked to listen to, like the Nirvana, Bush, Silverchair vibe, and then we decided to go more pop and go to Europe and get a record deal, and that's what we did. We went to Germany and got a record deal and then started touring in both Europe and the US.

EAMusic1: We are chatting with Scott from the Moffatts!

Question: How did "Misery" song end up on "Mrs. Tingle" soundtrack?

Scott: We have a department for Capitol Radio that gets songs on soundtracks and they just gave the director this song and he said, yeah, I really like it. So he stuck it in there. That's how it happens. We don't really have any input on it, but we knew they liked it and wanted to play it on the soundtrack.

Question: Hey, guys! First of all I'd like to tell you that I was just at your concert in Puyallup, WA and it was awesome! When you write your songs, do you write the lyrics or the music first?

Scott: We write the music first. Then we slowly write our lyrics, and after that happens we go into the studio or on the road during a sound check, try to clean it up and get down a rough demo of the song.

Question: Do you have a girlfriend?

Scott: No, I'm single.

Question: What are you going to do for the millennium?

Scott: We will be doing a show in Antarctica on a cruise.

EAMusic1: Thanks, Scott. We'll now be talking to Dave.

Question: You guys used to be a country band, right?

Dave: Yeah, we started singing country music, that was our first type of music, because country music was just in the house a lot, and it was also a music style we could sing.

Question: Dave:, have you ever thought about dying your hair or doing something totally outrageous with it?

Dave: We haven't exactly thought of an idea, but we're always up to changing our hair. We've had so many haircuts in the last year, it's been unbelievable. I don't know about Bob. Bob''s hairstyle is pretty notorious, and so it's kind of like a trademark.

Question: Dave, you're the cutest! What's your favorite movie?

Dave: My favorite movie right now is "Sixth Sense."

Question: What is your favorite song to sing?

Dave: "Shine," by Collective Soul.

Question: Hey, I think it's awesome that you guys are touring with LFO. How did you decide to go with them?

Dave: Well, actually, management brought it to us and we decided that they are more real than a lot of other stuff out there. I don't think they dance onstage, but either way we thought it would be a good way to get our name out there. Plus they're also playing live, and we wanted to be playing live.

Question: Do you like being famous? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

Dave: I don't really consider myself as being famous. I think of myself as an entertainer, and I think it's great because we get to hear all the fans and know that the fans come out and listen to our music. They're just so supportive, and without the fans we wouldn't have been able to make this record.

Question: Dave:, what made you decide that your instrument was the keyboards?

Dave: Well, there was always a keyboard in the house when we were growing up, so I guess I was always attached to it. I always liked to play it, and that's why I stuck with it. I thought it was a pretty cool instrument.

Question: How did you guys get started?

Dave: We got started when we were going to record a song for our grandparents, and we recorded it at Edmonton. While we were recording, a lot of people were looking at us because it was at a mall in one of those studios where people can actually see you while you're doing it. So we thought we could actually keep doing this. We were about 4 and 5 years old.

WildThang: Dave:, do you get along with your brothers? Do you fight over girls a lot?
Dave: We don't fight over girls, but we do have our arguments about school, or if just getting in someone's way. But we do get along.

Question: How do you feel being compared to Hanson?

Dave: It doesn't bother us because Hanson does write their own music and produce their own albums, and they're a real live band that can play, so I don't see any reason why we would be mad about being compared to them. Our music is different.

Rebee2004: What is the weirdest thing anyone has thrown onstage?

Dave: They throw up everything! They throw up candy, clothing items. They've thrown up cameras. I mean they throw up everything.

Luv4 Clint, Is it true that you guys are going to make a movie?

Dave: We had thought about it. We haven't made any plans at this time to make one. But we're thinking maybe during the next two albums we might. So quite a while from now. But it's not going to be like a Spice Girl film. It will be more like "A Hard DayÕs Night" or Spinal Tap... a mixture. It's going to be fun.

EAMusic1: Bob is doing a sound check now, so he can't chat. But he says HELLO to all of you!

Dave: I'd like to say thank you for connecting with us and asking questions. It's great that our fans are very supportive, and we couldn't do it without you guys.

EAMusic1: Thank you, Dave:, for chatting with us. You guys rock!
