ItŐs been some time since Canadian teen idols The Moffatts decided to pack it in. But now, following a well received Tuesday night show in London, Ontario, Scott Moffatt will be coming to Toronto to play with his new band, The Boston Post. The former guitarist from CanadaŐs dreamiest teen band will be stepping onto the LeeŐs Palace stage tonight (January 9) at 11:15. Moffatt will be prepared to flaunt exactly what he can do without siblings Dave, Clint and Bob backing him up.

The Boston PostŐs sound, which has been described as being strongly influenced by such U.K. bands as Radiohead and The Coral, can be seen as an extension of some of the more epic and Brit-Pop sounding songs that appeared on The Moffatts final album, Submodalities. It was a musical direction that Scott had seemed keen on taking after citing an interest in artists such as Supergrass and Aphex Twin in a 2000 interview with Chart Magazine.

His previous band, known for their light hearted pop songs "Misery" and "Miss You Like Crazy," disbanded once completing their final tour. It was reported that a difference of opinion regarding the direction that The Moffatts were going musically was the reason for the split. Since then Clint and Bob formed the band Pusch and Dave is rumoured to be studying to become a vet in B.C.

Copies of The Boston PostŐs indie EP, ItŐs 99 P.M. will be available for sale at the show. The band will also be playing an all ages show tomorrow (January 10) at The Reverb in Toronto. Look for more dates to be announced shortly.
